കേരളത്തിലെ മുതിർന്ന മാധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകനും എഴുത്തുകാരനുമാണ് ഉണ്ണി ബാലകൃഷ്ണൻ. 1969-ൽ ആലപ്പുഴയിലാണ് ജനനം. 1994-ൽ കലാകൗമുദി ആഴ്ചപ്പതിപ്പിൽ സബ് എഡിറ്ററായി മാധ്യമപ്രവർത്തനം ആരംഭിച്ചു. 1998 മുതൽ 2010 വരെ പന്ത്രണ്ടു വർഷക്കാലം ഡൽഹിയിൽ പ്രവർത്തിച്ച അദ്ദേഹം, വാജ്പേയി സർക്കാറിന്റെയും ഒന്നാം യുപിഎ സർക്കാറിന്റെയും കാലത്ത് രാജ്യതലസ്ഥാനത്ത് നിന്നുള്ള റിപ്പോർട്ടുകളിലൂടെ ശ്രദ്ധേയനായി. 'പ്രായമാകുന്നില്ല ഞാൻ,' 'മരങ്ങളായ് നിന്നതും,' 'നമ്മുടെ തലപ്പാവ്,' തുടങ്ങിയവയാണ് ഉണ്ണി ബാലകൃഷ്ണന്റെ ശ്രദ്ധേയമായ പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ. നിലവിൽ ഏഷ്യാനെറ്റ് ന്യൂസ് സീനിയർ കൺസൾട്ടന്റ് എഡിറ്റർ ആണ് അദ്ദേഹം.
Unni Balakrishnan is a senior journalist and writer from Kerala, born in 1969 in Alappuzha. He began his media career in 1994 as a sub-editor with the weekly Kalakaumudi. From 1998 to 2010, he worked in Delhi for twelve years, gaining recognition for his reporting from the national capital during the tenure of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the first UPA government. His notable books include Prayamakunnulla Njan, Marangalayi Ninnathum, and Nammude Thalappavu. He currently serves as Senior Consultant Editor at Asianet News.
