ഇടതുപക്ഷ പൊതുപ്രവര്ത്തകനും എഴുത്തുകാരനും മികച്ച പ്രഭാഷകനുമാണ് എം സ്വരാജ്. 2004ല് കേരള യൂണിവേസിറ്റിയില് നിന്ന് എല്.എല്.ബിയും. 2007ല് അണ്ണാമലൈ സര്വകലാശാലയില് നിന്നും എം.എ. ബിരുദവും കരസ്ഥമാക്കി. 2016 മുതല് 2021 വരെ തൃപ്പൂണിത്തുറയില് നിന്ന് നിയമസഭാംഗമായിരുന്നു. സിപിഐഎം സംസ്ഥാന കമ്മറ്റിയംഗമാണ്. 'പൂക്കളുടെ പുസ്തകം', 'മരണം കാത്ത് ദൈവങ്ങള്' എന്നിവയാണ് പ്രധാന രചനകള്. പൂക്കളുടെ പുസ്തകത്തിന് 2024-ലെ കേരള സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമിയുടെ ഉപന്യാസ വിഭാഗത്തിലുള്ള സിബി കുമാര് എന്ഡോവ്മെന്റ് പുരസ്കാരം ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നു. പുരസ്കാരങ്ങള് സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നതിലുള്ള വിമുഖത മൂലം അവാര്ഡ് സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നില്ലെന്ന് സ്വരാജ് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിരുന്നു.
M. Swaraj is a prominent Left-wing public activist, writer, and acclaimed orator from Kerala. He holds an LL.B from Kerala University (2004) and an M.A. from Annamalai University (2007). He served as a Member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly from Thrippunithura from 2016 to 2021 and is currently a member of the CPI(M) State Committee. His notable works include Pookkalude Pusthakam (which won the C.B. Kumar Endowment Award in the essay category at the 2024 Kerala Sahitya Akademi Awards) and Maranam Kaathu Daivangal. Known for his principled stand, Swaraj publicly declined to accept the award due to his reluctance toward receiving honors.
