സമകാലിക മലയാള സാഹിത്യത്തിലെ പ്രമുഖ ശബ്ദങ്ങളിലൊരാളായി ആദരിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന എഴുത്തുകാരനും തിരക്കഥാകൃത്തുമാണ് എസ്. ഹരീഷ്. ഏറെ നിരൂപക ശ്രദ്ധ നേടിയ ‘മീശ’ എന്ന അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ നോവൽ, കേരള സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി അവാർഡിനും, ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് വിവർത്തനം 2020ലെ ജെ.സി.ബി. അവാർഡിനും അർഹമായി. ‘ആദം', ‘രസവിദ്യയുടെ ചരിത്രം’, ‘അപ്പൻ’ എന്നിവയാണ് പ്രധാന ചെറുകഥാസമാഹാരങ്ങൾ. ‘പട്ടുനൂൽപുഴു’ ആണ് ഏറ്റവും പുതിയ പുസ്തകം. ‘ഏദൻ’, ‘ജല്ലിക്കട്ട്’, ‘ചുരുളി’, ‘നൻപകൽനേരത്ത് മയക്കം’ എന്നീ സിനിമകളുടെ തിരക്കഥാകൃത്ത് കൂടിയാണ് എസ്. ഹരീഷ്.
S. Hareesh is one of the most respected voices in contemporary Malayalam literature, known as both a writer and screenwriter. His critically acclaimed novel Meesha won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award, and its English translation was shortlisted for the JCB Prize in 2020. His major short story collections include Adam, Rasavidyayude Charithram, and Appan. His latest book is Pattunoolpuzhu. He has also written the screenplays for widely discussed films such as Ee.Ma.Yau, Jallikattu, Churuli, and Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam.
