മലയാള സാഹിത്യത്തിലെ ഉത്തരാധുനിക കവികളിൽ ശ്രദ്ധേയനാണ് അൻവർ അലി. കവി, ഗാനരചയിതാവ്, വിവർത്തകൻ, എഡിറ്റർ, നിരൂപകൻ, തിരക്കഥാകൃത്ത്, എന്നീ നിലകളിൽ അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ വ്യക്തിമുദ്ര പതിപ്പിച്ചു. 1966ൽ തിരുവനന്തപുരം, ചിറയിൻകീഴിൽ ജനനം. തിരുവനന്തപുരം യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി കോളേജിൽ നിന്ന് മലയാളത്തിൽ ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദവും, എം.ഫിൽ ബിരുദവും നേടി. മഴക്കാലം ആണ് ആദ്യ കവിതാസമാഹാരം. ആടിയാടി അലഞ്ഞ മരങ്ങളേ, മെഹബൂബ് എക്സ്പ്രസ്, ഐ റാപ്പി, എറ്റേണൽ സ്കൾപ്ചേഴ്സ്, തുടങ്ങിയവയാണ് പ്രധാന കൃതികൾ. കവിതകൾ നിരവധി വിദേശ ഭാഷകളിൽ വിവർത്തനം ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. കേരള സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി അവാർഡ്, കേരള സംസ്ഥാന ചലച്ചിത്ര അവാർഡ്, കുഞ്ചുപിള്ള അവാർഡ്, കനകശ്രീ എൻഡോവ്മെന്റ് അവാർഡ് എന്നീ പുരസ്കാരങ്ങൾ ലഭിച്ചു.
Anwar Ali is a prominent postmodern poet in Malayalam literature, known for his distinct voice as a poet, lyricist, translator, editor, critic, and scriptwriter. Born in 1966 in Chirayinkeezhu, Thiruvananthapuram, he earned his postgraduate and M.Phil degrees in Malayalam from University College, Thiruvananthapuram. His debut poetry collection was Mazhakkalam, followed by notable works such as Aadiyaadi Alanju Marangale, Mehaboob Express, and Eternal Sculptures. His poems have been translated into multiple foreign languages. He is a recipient of several honours, including the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award, the Kerala State Film Award, the Kunjupilla Award, and the Kanakasshree Endowment Award.
